After the devastating loss of both her parents, Bereshewa faced a future filled with uncertainty and challenges. But in the midst of her grief, Fanos became the family and support system she desperately needed.

Finding a Family in Fanos

For Bereshewa, Fanos was not just an organization; it was a lifeline. Growing up within this caring and supportive community, she found stability and encouragement, which allowed her to focus on her education and pursue her dreams. While many in her situation might have been forced to abandon their hopes, Fanos ensured that Bereshewa had the resources and emotional support necessary to thrive.

Educational Empowerment and Growth

With the unwavering support of Fanos, Bereshewa was able to excel in her studies. Her determination, combined with the organization’s assistance, led her to complete a diploma in Midwifery. But Bereshewa’s ambitions didn’t stop there—she continued her studies and went on to achieve a BA Degree in Management. Each step of her educational journey was a step towards independence and empowerment, and it was made possible through the consistent care and encouragement she received from Fanos.

Coming Full Circle

Today, Bereshewa’s story has come full circle. She now serves as the Country Representative and Project Director for Fanos Integrated Community Development Organization. In her leadership role, Bereshewa dedicates herself to the same mission that once lifted her up—supporting vulnerable children and helping them build brighter futures.

Her personal experience allows her to lead with empathy and a deep understanding of the challenges that children in similar situations face. Bereshewa’s commitment to paying it forward and making a difference in the lives of others is a powerful example of how community support can transform lives.
